Is it a must to clear baby’s stuffy nose? You don’t have to and your baby may not like it. But it will help her to breathe easier. Before suction, place one or two drops of saline in baby’s nostril to moisten and loosen up the mucus. The saline itself may ease your baby’s nostril congestion.
Do I have to often suction my baby’s nostril? Only do suction when your baby’s nose is congested. Don’t do more than two or three times a day or your baby’s linings will be irritated. Don’t use saline drops for more than four days in a row because they can dry out the nostril and make matter worse.
How do I use the rubber bulb? Squeeze the air out of the bulb then gently place the tip on the opening of the nostril. Slowly release the bulb to suction out the mucus. Remove the device and squeeze the bulb forcefully to expel the mucus. Wipe the tip and repeat the process for the other side of the nostril.
